A Very Furry Birthday At #SesamePlace

IMG_9576 December was quite the busy month for us. We have Christmas and Buggy’s birthday in the same week and coming off the Thanksgiving train, well you can say December was just pretty crazy.

For Christmas and Buggy’s birthday we took a trip down  to Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA. If you haven’t taken a vacation there, I definitely recommend it. If you’re not ready for Disney yet and your child(ren) love Sesame Street, that is the place to go.  The first time we drove down there – only five hours from where we are in New Hampshire was in September. If you think you will go again definitely buy the seasonal pass – totally worth it and it pays for itself after just the first visit.

collage_20131216143306601_20131216143339145We had such an amazing time. The first day was freezing and they had predicted a snow storm and it felt like we had the park to our selves and it was just super awesome. Our second day there we had lunch with the characters and we got to take pictures with all the ones that were there.  Buggy was super excited when our awesome waitress brought out a cupcake and Bert and Ernie sang happy birthday to her. It was such an awesome meet and greet lunch with the characters and an extra birthday for my little one.  What great memories we have.

If you’re interested in checking out the park, they open in May and opening this Spring is Cookie’s Monster Land - featuring five exciting rides, a three-story net climb, and a soft play area for the park’s youngest visitors. We love, love Sesame place and can’t wait until it open’s in May.  If you’re following me on Instagram you probably saw all my pics but if you’re not, I’d love to connect with you.

Have you been to Sesame Place yet?

4Th Of July Fun

4th of July Buggy had a busy and great 4th of July. She got to go to work with Mami and as usual had such an awesome time. She loves going to work with me and the residents absolutely love her. They shower her with so much attention that she really doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day. I’m really lucky that I can bring her to work with me whenever I need to. All the residents love her, especially the real grumpy ones but there are certain ones that she connects with. It’s amazing how kids have that intuition especially at such a young age.

Downstairs in our Harbor floor with where the residents with Dementia live and Buggy has a lot of fun hanging out down there. She actually prefers to stay with Miss Ashley- the activities coordinator – because she plays with her and gets to do crafts and color with the residents.

Here Buggy is helping Miss Ashley down in Harbor take some residents for a stroll. She totally wanted to push that wheelchair-hahaha. Some of the men have actually said “what’s your name little girl” in that really raspy, creepy voice. It’s kinda funny and all you can say is OMG! and laugh.

20130704_154136 Every Friday afternoon we have Happy Hour and the residents really look forward to that. We serve alcohol (limit is usually 2) and appetizers. This is just another activity for them to get together and socialize and meet any new residents that have moved in. Buggy loved going for a ride in Mr.. Tony’s wheelchair.

After work Buggy and I headed home to meet daddy at the golf course for some pool time. Before she jumped in the water she was able to get a little bit of bouncy house fun before they took it down. And can you believe she actually had enough energy to hit a few buckets of balls with daddy.  So you an can see, it was quite the eventful day for my little girl. Buggy had a super awesome day!

This Is The Best Christmas Ever!

IMG_9814Those are the words from my four and five year old nephews. Every year I have Christmas Eve at my house. My sister’s and the kids come up, we have dinner, the kids play and then we open up the presents.

It was great seeing Buggy with her cousins. We only live about an hour away from them and it’s sad that they never come up here – story for another post. It was so much fun seeing her interact with the boys. It’s like she sees them all the time.

The kids loved everything they got for Christmas. The boys kept saying over and over again how this was the best Christmas ever and they still had more presents to open on Christmas Day from Santa.

Watching the kids playing and hearing so many belly laughs and decorating cookies – yes, it certainly was “the best Christmas ever!”

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones!

The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure Giveaway- Ends 8/30

I am super excited to see this movie. This will be Buggy’s first movie and I can’t wait to see her jumping around and dancing.

Kenn Viselman, the creator of The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure (due out “Oogust” 29th) believes in the The Power of Mom. So much so he and his team have been traveling around the country engaging bloggers in conversations about what constitutes quality G-rated entertainment. Other than a few wildlife documentaries and a re-release in a popular children’s movie in 3-D, Hollywood has completely ignored the youngest moviegoer. The best they give us for our kids – animated PG films – are loaded with aggression and bloodshed.

Moms listen up: You have the power to change what Hollywood pushes on your children. In fact, there is no voice more powerful than yours. You control the home, the family budget and your child’s welfare. Aren’t you tired of watching moms die in the first ten minutes of so many animated movies? Aren’t you tired of seeing your children confused by the aggression towards their beloved movie characters? There’s no place for such violence in a children’s movie. Enough is enough.

It’s this “enough is enough” attitude that got Kenn Viselman, the marketing genius who introduced us to Teletubbies, Thomas the Tank Engine, Noddy and Eloise, mad as h*ll. The end result: The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure, a film that reinvents the movie-going experience. This film – basically a movie and a live show rolled into one - is the first-of-its-kind interactive family musical that encourages the audience to get out of their seats, dance, and sing. Visual and auditory cues invite the audience to “move” the action along, allowing parents and kids to interact not only with the characters, but also with one another.

The story follows the Oogieloves - Goobie, Zoozie and Toofie - as they prepare for a surprise birthday party for their friend, Schluufy. When their guardian, J. Edgar, loses the last five magical balloons in all of Lovelyloveville, the Oogieloves take action. Along the way, they meet Rosalie Rosebud (Toni Braxton), Dottie Rounder (Cloris Leachman), Lola and Lero Sombrero (Jaime Pressly and Christopher Lloyd), Milky Marvin (Chazz Palminteri), and Bobby Wobbly (Cary Elwes). The movie opens in theaters “Oogust” 29th.

And now for the giveaway: One lucky reader is going to win (1) Oogieloves kids prize pack worth $150.
The pack includes:
Tent
Mobile
Glitter Tattoos (2)
Stickers (2)
Beach Balls (2)

My Little Gymnast

Buggy has been taking gymnastics for the last month and absolutely loves it.  For their age it is more like a mommy and me class where the parents can go in and do pretty much whatever we want using certain things they have put out for that class.  My little one is an adrenaline junkie and has no fear at all and will jump off the mats and pretty much do a free fall without warning so daddy and I need to make sure we are definitely on our toes with her.  Here are some pictures from yesterday’s class.  If you have thought about starting your little one in gymnastics I definitely recommend it
