Imagination Running Wild At Wonder Park

Have you seen the previews for the new Wonder Park movie?  It looks pretty awesome and my daughter and I are so excited to see it.  It's a fun adventurous movie that will tap into your child's imagination. Wonder Park is in theaters March 15, 2019!

Wonder Park tells the story of a magnificent amusement park of a wildly creative girl name June comes alive.  One magical day, June is running through the woods to find her way home where she discovers an old roller coaster car and climbs inside.  She suddenly finds herself in Wonderland, an amusement park she had created in her mind and put aside.  All of he rides and characters are brought to life but are falling into disarray without her.  Now, with the help of her fun and lovable park characters,m June will have to put the wonder back in Wonderland before it is lost forever.

Do you remember when you were a child and how your imagination ran wild?  When we tap into our imagination we can go anywhere and create amazing things.

After watching the trailer how could you not be excited to see this fun, adventurous movie.

My daughter and I had a great time putting together the amusement park building activity and getting creative with the amazon boxes.  My daughter has quite the creative imagination and I always love to see what she comes up with or listening to her stories when she's playing with her dolls and stuffed animals.  It's these moments that I treasure forever as she's growing way too fast.

With the boxes we received, my daughter wanted to make a roller coaster and pretend that she was also creating her own Wonder Park adventure.  She didn't have much time to be as creative as she wanted to be but she put it together, grabbed her little friends and enjoyed a great roller coaster ride. As you can see, everyone had a WONDER-ful time at the park.   We are so excited to see this movie.  If your kids are adventurous and creative then this is a must see for your family!!

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: SECRET OF THE TOMB DVD REVIEW

*Disclosure: I did receive this product to facilitate my review. There was no compensation. These opinions are my own and were in no way influenced by another person.

I hope you are ready for another adventure with Night At The Museum: Secret of the Tomb with our favorite night guard Larry Daley, as he travels the globe, uniting our favorite and new characters while embarking on an epic quest to save the magic of the museum before it’s gone forever.

This movie brings me back to the first Night At The Museum when I was pregnant with my daughter. When anyone asked me if I had picked out any baby names my response was yes, her name is Sacajawea.  My daughter just turned 5 a few months ago and I told her this story last night and she loved it.  She couldn't stop saying Sacajawea.

This movie had me laughing right from the beginning thanks to Dexter the monkey.  For anyone who hasn't seen any of the movies - with Ben Stiller - how could you not, anyway it's about a security guard name Larry (Ben Stiller) who works nights and weird things happen like the museum animals and character coming to life.  In this 3rd sequel the movie starts with a fundraiser involving the animals and characters and things go wrong. Larry soon finds out that an ancient tablet of Ahkmenrah is starting to die which means that the "magic" of the museum is in jeopardy. So the journey to save the museum begins.

The characters were all wonderful and it was great seeing Robin Williams in his final role on screen and as always Rebel Wilson as Tilly is always a character.

My daughter really liked just the part with the animals, being 5 years old this movie was a bit too much for her but she had a wonderful time playing with the Kit we received which had all the animals, wearing our security badges and learning about Sacajawea and some of the other characters.  She's really excited to go to the museum and see the dinosaurs and the other characters we learned about in the movie.

You should definitely watch Night At The Museum: Secret of the Tomb. With all of our favorite characters, how could you not love it.

Review: Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure

A few weeks ago I attended the movie preview for the Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure. I’m a total kid at heart and even at my age still love watching cartoons and I was even more excited because it was Buggy’s first time at the movies. I also brought our 6 year old neighbor. When we first got there they had tables with crafts and bags for the kids to decorate. The girls had so much fun doing that.  While the kids were playing and learning some of the dance moves from the movie, the parents were in a separate room listening to the producer Kenn Viselman, head of Marketing Eileen Potrock and Writer Scott Stabile.

The movie itself was pretty good. It was great to be at the movies and not have to worry about the kids being disruptive or not being able to sit still. The movie tells you when it’s ok to get up and dance when you butterflies across the screen and when the turtles appear that is when you need to sit back down. During the dancing part many of the kids and adults were really into it. That was totally the fun part.

The characters, Goobie, Zoozie and Toofie set out to find five magical balloons for their friend Schluufy's surprise birthday party. Along the way, they meet some very interesting real life “characters” - Dotty Rounder (Cloris Leachman), Bobby Wobbly (Carey Elwes), Milky Marvin (Chazz Palminteri), Rosalie Rosebud (Toni Braxton) and Lola and Lero Sombero (Christopher Lloyd and Jaime Pressly) that are supposed to help them on their journey.
The older generation that attended the viewing were laughing a lot because they could relate to them but the younger generation had no idea who they were. Throughout the movie I would look around the theater to watch the level of interest and I could tell that the kids were loosing interest but once the butterflies came out we were all out of our chairs dancing again.

It is unfortunate that the previews weren’t good for the movie. The concept is totally awesome and we as Moms should totally push for more of these movies for our younger children but while I was watching the movie and looking around I couldn’t help but think:

  • They could have saved so much money by NOT having celebrities in the movie. The kids have no idea who they are so it wouldn’t have made a difference if they used up and coming actors
  • Rosebud – Toni Braxton’s character could have been eliminated completely. Even I lost interest here so I can understand how the kids couldn’t relate to her. Her character was way too slow and should have been more kid friendly. Maybe if they used an animated characters that the kids knew, it probably would have been better.
  • Lola and Lero’s characters were way above the age group. They dancing they did was definitely not kid friendly. They were not silly toddler dance moves. Maybe the wiggles should have done it.
  • Voice overs – what you hear doesn’t always match up with mouth movement.
  • I didn’t know who Bobby Wobbly was and I couldn’t relate so I’m sure the kids couldn’t either. Again these celebrity characters should be eliminated or use the wiggles –something the kids would totally relate to.

Overall, I think the girls had a great time because this was something new to them. They were excited that they were able to get up and dance and a few times I had to reassure the 6 year old that it was ok. In the car I kept asking if they really did like the movie and they said yes and we kept singing Oogie, Oogie Oogieloves in the car. Even weeks later when my daughter sees the bag she’ll start to sing again and dance.  So even with all that, I would still go and see the movie again with them because they enjoyed it and that is what it’s all about.  I hope you do get a chance to take the kids to see the movie. I think it is a great experience for them and for the parents as well knowing that you can be a bit more relaxed knowing you’re not always have to tell them to “sssshhhhh”. We really do need that mom support sending the message that more movies like these should be made.

The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure Giveaway- Ends 8/30

I am super excited to see this movie. This will be Buggy’s first movie and I can’t wait to see her jumping around and dancing.

Kenn Viselman, the creator of The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure (due out “Oogust” 29th) believes in the The Power of Mom. So much so he and his team have been traveling around the country engaging bloggers in conversations about what constitutes quality G-rated entertainment. Other than a few wildlife documentaries and a re-release in a popular children’s movie in 3-D, Hollywood has completely ignored the youngest moviegoer. The best they give us for our kids – animated PG films – are loaded with aggression and bloodshed.

Moms listen up: You have the power to change what Hollywood pushes on your children. In fact, there is no voice more powerful than yours. You control the home, the family budget and your child’s welfare. Aren’t you tired of watching moms die in the first ten minutes of so many animated movies? Aren’t you tired of seeing your children confused by the aggression towards their beloved movie characters? There’s no place for such violence in a children’s movie. Enough is enough.

It’s this “enough is enough” attitude that got Kenn Viselman, the marketing genius who introduced us to Teletubbies, Thomas the Tank Engine, Noddy and Eloise, mad as h*ll. The end result: The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure, a film that reinvents the movie-going experience. This film – basically a movie and a live show rolled into one - is the first-of-its-kind interactive family musical that encourages the audience to get out of their seats, dance, and sing. Visual and auditory cues invite the audience to “move” the action along, allowing parents and kids to interact not only with the characters, but also with one another.

The story follows the Oogieloves - Goobie, Zoozie and Toofie - as they prepare for a surprise birthday party for their friend, Schluufy. When their guardian, J. Edgar, loses the last five magical balloons in all of Lovelyloveville, the Oogieloves take action. Along the way, they meet Rosalie Rosebud (Toni Braxton), Dottie Rounder (Cloris Leachman), Lola and Lero Sombrero (Jaime Pressly and Christopher Lloyd), Milky Marvin (Chazz Palminteri), and Bobby Wobbly (Cary Elwes). The movie opens in theaters “Oogust” 29th.

And now for the giveaway: One lucky reader is going to win (1) Oogieloves kids prize pack worth $150.
The pack includes:
Tent
Mobile
Glitter Tattoos (2)
Stickers (2)
Beach Balls (2)

Grease The Musical

Yesterday the man and I had an afternoon date and surprised me with tickets to see Grease The Musical. It was awesome. I’m generally not a fan of musical’s but Grease is one of my favorite movie’s. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve seen it. I remember the first time it came out at the movies. I’m sure I’m dating myself here.

If you’re not familiar with the movie, Grease is set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High School, follows ten working-class kids as they master the arts of love, cars, heavy petting, and smoking – typical high school antics.

The show was awesome. It was about 2.5 hours and made you feel like singing and dancing with the cast. Well, I admit, I was signing and my foot wouldn’t stop moving. If you like musicals and you haven’t seen this one yet, I definitely recommend it.

What’s your favorite movie?
