Twitter Haters

A few days ago we took Buggy to the beach. It was the first time this summer and we headed north to Hampton Beach, NH. The beach was packed so you really couldn’t be picky where you laid your blanket.

Behind us was a group of people with a couple of kids. While I really couldn’t hear much of what the others were saying at times you couldn’t help but hear gay guy (yes, he really is gay) and chatty Cathy. Those two were too funny. She was saying how she started posting her pics on Instagram and all of a sudden she had people following her and “I had to follow them back right, I mean you can’t have all these people follow you and not follow them back.” He was talking about his Pinterest account (I wish he mentioned the name so I could look him up), talked about facebook and remember MySpace? He was saying that he should probably get on Twitter but chickie was totally ragging on Twitter saying how she hates hashtags and omg, #hampton #beach #summer #boardwalk ####. To that gay guy says “what the hell is a hashtag anyway, it’s a fricken pound sign!” OMG, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to deal with all that hashtag shit. The two went on and on about social media and what they like/hate about it.

In the picture they are looking at her phone checking her twitter feed.  Those two were totally funny. Nothing like a day at the beach with some great entertainment. I totally wished I had videoed it - #funbeachday #beachentertainment #twitterhaters.

I totally should have gone to the beach more often - hahahaha

Master Sand Sculpting Competition

When we were up at the beach a few weeks ago we noticed the beautiful sand sculpture. Every year Hampton Beach has their annual sand sculpting competition. We don’t always get to make it up there to see them in action. These sand sculptures are amazing and leave you wondering how these guys really do it. I guess it would be like watching an ice sculpture in action. You still can’t believe that someone can create amazing things from sand or ice.

After we finally got the girls away from playing and decided to grab some lunch we walked down the boardwalk and saw the rest of the sculptures. These sculptures were insane! We heard so many oooh’s and wow’s from the crowd.

I remember when I used to try and make sand castles at the beach when I was a little girl. I was barely able to get the sand to stay in place after I flipped my bucket over. I wonder what they use to keep the sand in place and protect it from the weather.

Beach Day, Beach Day

A few weeks ago we took the girls to Hampton Beach – Buggy and our little neighbor. It’s about an hour north. We haven’t been to the beach since we were in Puerto Rico celebrating Buggy’s first birthday with my family.

The water was absolutely cold. It didn’t seem to stop anyone from going in especially since it was so hot out. I haven’t been to this beach in years. This is where we used to come when we skipped school or partied after prom. It’s very popular because they have a boardwalk, arcade, concert venue and whatnot.

The girls had such an amazing time.  Buggy didn’t want to go in the water. She went as far as just wetting her piggies and that was enough for her. She was more interested in making sand castles, getting buried in the sand or just splashing about. It’s funny how they can go all day playing and not think about food. I guess when you are at the beach and you’re having so much fun you don’t have a need to eat. Even enticing them with yummy pizza, the girls resisted but we finally convinced them to eat.

I love watching the girls playing together. It’s like they truly are sisters. Had I not had the ectopic pregnancy, my child would be a month younger than Miss S who turns 6 at the end of the month. A lady behind me who was there with her granddaughter asked how old my girls were because they were getting along so well. I told her she’s not ours but we get to borrow her whenever we want-lol!
