Sarah Silverman’s Tribute To Her Dog “Duck”

source: nydailynews
This was such a touching story. Last week on September 3, Sarah Silverman, Comedian and Actor had to make one of the toughest decisions every pet owner dreads.  Sarah had to say goodbye to her best friend of 14 years – her beloved dog Duck.

Sarah first met her canine companion at a shelter when he was about 5 1/2 years old. Many of you pet owners know what an amazing bond you can have with your furry friend.  Sarah’s tribute was so emotional and I can relate completely. Loosing your furry best friends is one of the hardest things you can go through. Our fur babies provide unconditional love, they are extremely loyal, they know when you’re having a bad day and are always there to offer a paw or to lick your tears away and they always know when to be quiet and just cuddle with you.

I know all too well about Sarah’s pain of loosing her best friend.  I’m thankful that both my senior dogs are doing great but Allie, my 15 year old Westie  is blind, almost deaf, diabetic and has arthritis. I’m thankful every single day that she is still part of my life. I lost her sister Tasha two years ago next month and one of my boxers, Pebbles six months after Tasha.  I lost my male boxer at 12. He was my 5th foster and gave me 5 wonderful years. I too held him when I had to send him to Rainbow Bridge. I held him long after his body lost its heat as well and whispered how much I loved him in his ear before my husband pried my arms off of him.

If you haven’t done so, read Sarah’s loving tribute to her amazing dog Duck.

Love and hug your pets today.
