A Scary Moment With A Senior Resident

Working at an Assisted Living with Senior residents has opened my eyes to how delicate and fragile we become as we age. Not having my parents or grandparent’s, this is something that I have not experienced.  Many of the residents there have some form of Alzheimer. Resident’s with full on Dementia are on a different floor but some are there for other medical reasons.

Today while I was working on the computer with Pauline, we started chatting to a new resident who had moved in just a few weeks ago.  Gary, the new resident was waiting at the elevator to go down to lunch. While he was standing there we asked how he was doing and he said he was doing fine. Pauline and I continued to focus on what we were doing on the computer and all of a sudden we heard the loudest bang. We both stood up and noticed Gary just suddenly passed out and hit the floor HARD.  Thank God the nurses were right behind us and rushed over to him and called 911.

It was one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen. One minute we were talking to him and a second or two later he just dropped.  Pauline was a bit shaken up. Gary has been sitting at their table during dinner. The resident’s become family with each other and become pretty protective of one another. I hope everything is ok with Gary. Hopefully, when I go in tomorrow someone will have some good news.

We are all thinking of you Gary!

Happy New Day Mami

Happy New Day! That is what Buggy was saying all day today-LOL! For some reason she wouldn’t or couldn’t say Happy Mother’s Day so she kept wishing me a Happy New Day – I love it! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Whether you’re a mamma to fur babies or two legged babies- you’re still a mamma no matter what.  To me Mother’s Day is every.single.day. Getting pregnant wasn’t easy for me. We tried for many years before I had an ectopic pregnancy and then to suffer a mini stroke while going through IVF, so every day that I am able to spend with my daughter is my precious Mother’s Day. This picture is the best Mother’s Day gift ever. Buggy did it at school and she was so excited to give it to me-love, love, love it!

I wish I could have spent some time with my Mami today but I’m sure she was having a wonderful celebration in Heaven.

I hope you all had a super awesome day today and were able to spend time with those who are special to you and tell them that you love them and appreciate them.

Happy New Day Mama’s!

Cemeteries Refusing Boston Bombing Suspect

Here in New England we are still reeling from the Boston Marathon Bombing.  The work that our local authorities have done is beyond amazing.  Unfortunately the suspect is still very much in the news because his body still lies in limbo rejected by many cities across the US including Canada.

No one wants to bury this terrorist in their city and who can blame them. Would you want your city to be known for claiming and burying a terrorist?  The question seems to come up as to why not send him back to his country but they don’t even want him there. I heard somewhere on TV that she should be buried at sea like Bin Laden but who knows.  I wouldn’t be surprised if this went old school and someone burned him on a stake, I’m sure it’s crossed many minds. There’s even a suggestion from a local in Massachusetts to start raising some money to send him back to Russia. I don’t know about you but even once cent for this ruthless bastard is way too much for me.

I hope they find a solution soon.
