Early Morning Sunrise

Taking pictures has always been a hobby for me. I am completely and utterly trigger happy. My camera is always on standby. I don’t think I have a preference of what I take pictures of, I just love to capture the moment. My dogs are used to me posing them and taking pictures of them. Every year for their birthday I bake them cupcakes and put birthday hats on them – basically torture them, but they are totally used to it. They sit very still and give me the look – lady hurry up and take your damn picture – I want my cupcake!  Buggy is also used to me taking pictures of her as well. She will take my camera and walk around pretending to take pictures of the dogs. It’s hilarious to see.

I use a digital Canon Rebel EOS and I love it. I’ve had it a few years now and I’ve yet to really know how to use this camera to its full potential. I would love to take a photography class to learn more. I guess I could go back and read the manual but I like applying what I am learning in real time. I am constantly changing the settings and profiles when I take my pictures which really screws me up because when I go back and look at them I don’t remember which setting I used. But I love my camera. I also have the same one but for film which hasn’t been used in quite some time but I think I’m going to hold on to it.

Aside from my daughter and my dogs, I love taking pictures of the sunrise and sunset. When I take my dog for a walk I try and remember to take my camera with me so I can capture the amazing colors displayed across the sky. It’s usually difficult to get a clear shot without trees in the way because I’m at a low level. My husband keeps telling me to drive up to  the golf course to get my shots so I’ll have to remember that next time.

A few days ago Buggy got up around 5:45AM and before I went to get her I let the dogs out. As I looked out I noticed the sun was starting to peak so I ran to get my camera. It was capture the moment or grab your crying toddler – sorry Buggy, Mami had to capture the moment but I didn’t let you cry for too long.

These shots were taken from my deck outside my bedroom. I had to lean over the edge on a few of them to get a clear shot – just look how gorgeous!

When you see a gorgeous sunrise like this, you will most certainly see a beautiful sunset and on days like this I am usually Chasing The Sunset.

  3. What beautiful pictures!  I love taking pictures too and often have a camera in my hand.  The only problem is I'm terrible at capturing what I want in the perfect lighting and background.  I'm getting better at it, but over the years my husband has had to really work some photoshop magic on some of the good pictures that I've taken that were actually terrible because of the lighting.  I don't think about it though.  I just start click, click, clicking away.  :-)
