I recently read a comment from someone on Twitter who was trying to enter a giveaway on someone’s blog but wasn’t allowed to because she was maxed out on her Twitter followers and was very upset and frustrated. If followers were following her back then she wouldn’t have a problem. I don’t know if this person had a Twitter profile with a description and a picture profile or not.
When I first started on Twitter everyone said “you never follow an egg” and I can totally see why. Having your picture or any picture besides an egg and adding a description makes a big difference in whether someone is going to follow you back or not. If you don’t want to use your picture how about a picture of your dog, the sunset or any picture – just add a picture. How about a little description of you. Tell me who you are and why I would want to follow you. I have over 1300 followers and would love to follow everyone back but half of you are eggs with no details and that’s the only thing I know about you-You’re an Egghead!. You never know, you could find a new BFF through Twitter that can’t happen unless you tell us just a little bit about yourself.
But having a profile and description also doesn’t mean that you will automatically get a follow back either. It all depends on who is following you and if they are they part of your niche. There is still so much to learn about social media but for now let’s just start by adding a picture and a description to your profile. I bet you will gain more followers if you do that.
What do you think? Feel free to follow me @imasillymami I have a picture and a profile
